RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication. It is used to stay up to date on new articles on blogs, news and many more things where you might want to receive instant updates on content. To do this, many websites provide RSS feeds themselves. For ebay, RSS feeds where available to keep track of new listings, but they were unfortunately discontinued.
If you are looking for a specific item to buy on eBay, it is very important to be on top of new listings. Checking the eBay search results periodically by hand is very time consuming. By creating rss feeds of your eBay searches, you are notified instantly on new items being listed matching your criteria.
After you have created your feed, you must enter the url in your favorite rss-reader. This can be an online reader, like feedly or inoreader or a desktop rss reader like Thunderbird or Feedlab.
By creating rss feeds of your own listings as a seller, you can increase the visibility of your listings and increase the amount of eyes that are on your items. It is also a great way to promote your store.
